Dah-Der Foundation

Origin

The Beginning of the Dah-Der Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation

The Dah-Der Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation was established from the vision and dedication of the Dah-Der Hospice Ward at Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

Since its founding in 1997, the Dah-Der Ward has been devoted to promoting the philosophy of hospice and palliative care, accompanying countless patients and their families through the final stages of life.

To continue this spirit of compassion and to enhance public understanding and support for hospice care, the Foundation was established to further advance hospice development and to assist more patients in need of end-of-life care.

Rooted in compassion, the Foundation continues the mission of hospice care by supporting patients, families, and the wider community with dignity and warmth.

Mission

Compassion, dignity, and holistic hospice care

Guided by the principle of “Love as the foundation, people at the center,” the Dah-Der Hospice and Palliative Care Development Foundation integrates medical expertise, social resources, and community support to advance hospice education, advocacy, and service development.

The Foundation is dedicated to fostering life education and a culture of peaceful dying, while continuously enhancing the quality of hospice and palliative care services.

Through compassionate support and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Foundation accompanies patients and their families in attaining physical, emotional, and spiritual peace, as well as a sense of wholeness at the end of life.

With dignity, compassion, and human-centered care, the Foundation strives to create a society where every individual may face the final stage of life with peace, comfort, and respect.
